Two arrested in motorcycle theft operation, 12 stolen bikes recovered
The police arrested two youths, Lovepreet Singh and Dharampreet Singh, residents of Deep Singh Wala village in Faridkot, for their involvement in a series of motorcycle thefts. A total of 12 stolen motorcycles were recovered from their possession following their questioning.
The arrests came as part of a special campaign launched by the police to tackle the rising number of motorcycle thefts in the region. The recovered bikes, which had been reported stolen, were found in various conditions, some dismantled for parts while others were still operational, ready to be sold on the black market.
According to the police, the accused were involved in thefts across the district, raising concerns about the scale of the operation. Authorities suspect that multiple gangs may be responsible for the surge in motorcycle thefts, and investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of their activities.
The police are working to identify additional victims and return the stolen motorcycles to their rightful owners. They urged the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity related to motorcycle thefts.
