Two booked for ‘misleading’ advertisement about Covid-19 in newspaper

Abohar: Taking note of a “misleading” advertisement that appeared in a local newspaper on May Day, the police have registered a case against an insurance agent and the editor of the newspaper. Sub-inspector Harbans Singh said that in the advertisement, Davinder Dev Sukhija claimed to be an agent of an insurance company. He allegedly tried to mislead people about the impact of Covid-19 and asked people to contact him for the insurance cover. A case was registered under Sections 188, 505, 420 and 34 of the IPC, and Section 54 of the Disaster Management Act. OC
