Two labourers, including a woman, died while the husband of the deceased woman and another labourer were injured when a concrete wall collapsed in a colony in Sriganganagar today.
Sub-Inspector Hans Raj of the Sadar police station said a 15-foot-high concrete wall collapsed suddenly. He said four labourers who were working nearby were buried under the debris of the wall. The Sub-Inspector said the injured were brought to the district hospital and the doctor declared Nisha (20) and Ajay (18) dead. He said Nisha’s husband Ajit (22) and another labourer of Bakhtanwali were undergoing treatment.
The police said they were investigating the matter. A crowd gathered at the spot after the wall collapsed, and they took the injured persons to the district hospital. The deceased, Ajay, was originally a resident of Samastipur district of Bihar, and he lived in another colony with his family; Nisha was a resident of Arjun Nagar; Ajit is a resident of Hathras district, and he lives in Chak 4-E village.
