Two employees of the Transport Department have been suspended after they were found involved in drug trafficking. The process to terminate their services has been initiated.

Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar stated an inspector and a conductor were found involved in drug trafficking. Both were arrested by the Jalandhar police and a case registered against them by the special cell of the Jalandhar Commissionerate.

The suspended employees are Inspector Kirat Singh and Conductor Deepak Sharma of the Punjab Roadways, Jalandhar-2. Ajit Singh Raju, who has been arrested for drug trafficking, has no connection with the Transport Department, said the minister.

He said if any employee of the department was found involved in drug trafficking or unscrupulous activities, he would not be spared.
