A 22-year-old youth died after his bike collided with an overloaded tractor-trailer near Jhumianwali village last evening. The deceased, identified as Mohit Bajaj, worked as a software engineer at Abohar.

He was returning to Koharianwali village from his office. The body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem examination on Saturday. People said the administration had ignored blatant violation of traffic rules. Straw-laden vehicles carrying hundreds of bales, exceeding the prescribed limit, can be seen plying on roads here daily.

He was identified as Shakti Singh (23), a resident of the Govt Seed Farm road area.
