Union Minister SP Singh Baghel pays tribute to RSS martyrs
Moga, April 19
Union Minister of State for Law and Justice SP Singh Baghel visited the Shaheedi park here on Tuesday and paid homage to 25 RSS workers who were gunned down by militants on June 25, 1989, while they were attending shakha.
The minister, who was accompanied by former MLA Dr Harjot Kamal, district BJP president Vinay Sharma and other leaders, lauded the role of the RSS and BJP activists for raising a memorial to their memory. He called them ‘martyrs’ and said they sacrificed their lives for maintaining communal harmony and unity in the country.
Baghel later held a meeting with BJP leaders and asked them to propagate the policies, programmes and works done by the Centre at the grassroots level. He also asked them to strengthen the cadre in Punjab ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. —
