Former Sarpanch Balvir Kumar, whose sister-in-law has been elected as a village head, said, “Stay united and get elected turnwise. This was the idea of Sant Sarwan Dass, who headed Dera Baba Shree Chand. Our first sarpanch was Banta Singh. Ram Das Chaudhary remained sarpanch for 20 years. I was sarpanch from 2019 to 2024. My uncle’s daughter-in-law is the current sarpanch.”

Balvir added, “We constructed 15 internal streets, a stadium, four bridges and a dharmashala. Recently, we also distributed 50 LPG cylinders to the residents to curb burning of wood as fuel.”

Rani said, “The villagers first select ward-wise representatives. One among them is elected sarpanch. I will serve the residents with utmost dedication and ensure overall development of the village. Further, I also intend to uphold this noble tradition.”
