Punjab former Chief Secretary Vini Mahajan gets central posting

Former Chief Secretary, Punjab, Vini Mahajan has been appointed Secretary, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of the 1987-batch IAS officer of Punjab cadre. Mahajan was Chief Secretary during Capt Amarinder Singh’s regime. A spokesperson said she had been handpicked to drive the ambitious Jal Shakti Mission, a flagship programme of the government and the Prime Minister to ensure piped and clean water to every home in the country.
