Warring slams CM over tehsildars' strike, farmers' detention; calls for accountability
Criticising Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for the tehsildars' strike, Punjab Congress chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring today said that one could not go about clashing with everyone.
While speaking to some scribes in Muktsar today, Warring said, "Almost everyone is lodging protests today. I say, as the CM, you can't open a front with everyone. The public is facing problems. The CM should just dismiss those who are black sheep in the department."
Regarding the detention of several farmer leaders across the state today, Warring said that the CM's behaviour was childish. "Farmers are being treated like terrorists. It seems the state government is creating a situation under the directions of Amit Shah. However, one should know that you cannot suppress the voice of farmers. I have appealed to the Congress leadership and MLAs to go and support farmers wherever required," said Warring.
He also claimed that the state government was acting against some small drug peddlers and had failed to take action against the big fish involved in the illegal trade.
He further took a jibe at former Delhi CM and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal, saying, "Kejriwal is a free man now, as the AAP is almost over. He will only do meditation now."
