Amritsar, January 23
Navneet Kaur has been upset over the Sentence Review Board (SRB) rejecting the permanent release of her husband Davinder Pal Singh Bhullar, a convict in the 1993 Delhi bomb blasts case.
Kaur said it was sheer lack of political will that hindered the release of her ‘ailing’ husband. “I have no faith in the Centre and state government. I met Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, too, only to get false assurances. I will continue to fight against this injustice till my last breath,” she said.
Bhullar was one of the eight Sikh prisoners who were announced by the Centre to be given special remission and liberated from prison under Article 161 of the Constitution on the occasion of the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev in 2019, but in vain.
