With assets worth Rs 302 cr, AAP candidate Sanjeev Arora is richest in poll fray so far
AAP’s Ludhiana (West) candidate Sanjeev Arora is the richest in the fray so far with assests worth Rs 302.1 crore. Congress candidate Bharat Bhushan Ashu and SAD’s Parupkar Singh Ghuman trail him with assets of Rs 7.52-crore and Rs 5.39 crore, respectively.
While the Ludhiana-based industrialist owns assets worth Rs 2,78,57,72,462, his wife has assets to the tune of Rs 23,53,69,783.
A massive roadshow was organised by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ahead of the filing of nomination by Sanjeev Arora today.
National convener of the AAP, Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab president, AAP, Aman Arora, former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi Meena and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann were atop an open vehicle along with candidate Sanjeev Arora as they moved through Ghumar Mandi in Ludhiana.
The rally started from Aarti Chowk and after reaching near Bhai Bala Chowk, the leaders descended from the vehicle and moved towards Mini Secretariat in cars. Slogans of “Inqlab Zindabad” were raised as the roadshow was in progress. Starting off first, CM Bhagwant Mann, while addressing the gathering, said, “In a day or two, you will know the exact placement of the AAP election symbol on the ballot. Regardless of the number, we know it will come first.”
Kejriwal, while addressing the roadshow, started his speech with “Bole So Nihal, Sat Sri Akal”, Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki fateh”. Making reference to Narendra Modi’s recent statement, “Hamare raghon mein sindoor daudta hai”, he said “Sanjeev Arora ke raghon mein Ludhiana daudta hai”.
Kejriwal taking a dig at the Congress candidate Bharat Bhushan Ashu said, “Sanjeev Arora has chosen a right slogan for the elections, which says, “Na gussa na ahankaar, Sanjeev Arora iss baar”.
He added that if people want to choose development, they should choose, Arora and if they want anger and frustration, they should choose Ashu. “It is what he is still doing, abusing others everyday and he will continue doing same in case he comes to power,” said Kejriwal. In his speech, MP Arora highlighted the work done by him and his party, especially long-standing issues that had been unresolved for over 50 years. As an example, he cited the granting of proprietary rights to residents of Lal Lakir—an issue people had been raising for decades.
Several leaders of the Opposition, who were talking about the “absence” of the president, AAP, Punjab, Aman Arora, during the entire campaigning of the AAP candidate from the Ludhiana (West) constituency Sanjeev Arora, saw the party president Aman Arora accompanying AAP candidate Sanjeev Arora for filing the latter’s nominations.
