A woman was allegedly held hostage for two weeks and gang-raped by a “tantric” and his nephew on the pretext of having a child.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Rahul Yadav said acting on a complaint of the victim, a rape case had been registered against tantric Lovely Singh of Chak 17-Z village and his nephew Jas of Kikkar Chak village in Sriganganagar.
The police got the victim’s, who was married around five years ago, medical check-up done today. After not having a child, she fell into the trap of Lovely.
According to police, the victim went to attend a fair at Chak 15-Z village on October 16 but did not return. The next day, her in-laws informed the police.
Two days ago, she returned to her in-law’s house. When the police questioned her, the victim said she was taken to Kikkar Chak village, held hostage and raped by Lovely and his nephew.
Cops said the suspects were on the run and would be nabbed soon.
