A team of the Sadak Surakhya Force today rescued a woman, who jumped into a canal, with the help of Army jawans on the Sitto Gunno road.

According to information, the SSF team passing through Kala Tibba village saw a woman jumping into the canal. The SSF personnel sought help of jawans who were commuting on the same route to take out the woman from the canal. Later, they admitted her to the Abohar Civil Hospital.

Preliminary investigation indicated that the woman’s parents who reside at Dhani Jaimal Ram married her to a resident of Jalalabad

12 years ago.

For the last two years, she had been living with her parents along with her son as the couple had filed for a divorce and was under depression.

The authorities at the Civil Hospital said the woman had been referred to Faridkot.
