Woman’s body with severed arm found in drain

The half-naked body of a woman was found lying in a drain originating from a canal at Bakainwala village near the Indo-Pak border today.
Village sarpanch Hardeep informed the police after finding the body of the woman, aged around 30. The sarpanch and social activists suspected murder, as an arm of the woman was missing and injuries were visible on parts of the body.
The police appealed to the people nearby to contact the Government Hospital in Abohar for identification of the body.
In a separate incident, the body of a young man was found today from a canal passing through Kallar Khera village in Abohar. The deceased had not been identified till the filing of this report
The Nar Seva Narayan Seva Samiti member Bittu Narula said they received information from the village that a young man's body was stuck in the Malukpura Minor (sub-canal) near Kallarkhera. Upon receiving the information, they rushed to the scene and pulled the body from the canal.
The victim seemed to be around 30 years old. Headphones and keys were found in his pocket. The body appears to be approximately 24 hours old, but his identity has not yet been established. The police have kept the body in the Abohar Civil Hospital mortuary for identification and post-mortem.
