Jalandhar Congress workers protest ED summons to Sonia Gandhi

Protesting against repeated summons being issued to AICC chief Sonia Gandhi by the Enforcement Directorate, the state Youth Congress held a demonstration against the Centre outside the ED zonal office here today.

Youth Congress president Brinder Singh Dhillon, Jalandhar (Urban) district president Angad Dutta and Jalandhar (Rural) district president Honey Joshi reached the ED office in the noon and protested against the BJP for trying to threaten Sonia and Rahul Gandhi through the ED.

Making the protest innovative, the party leaders brought caged parrots and set them free. They carried placards with messages, “ED and CBI are caged parrots of the government” and “Save democracy, save institution”.

Dhillon said, “Today, we are protesting because Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made these institutions his parrot, and it was time to free them.”
