Youth booked in several cases shot dead near court complex in Abohar

A youth, known for his criminal background, was shot dead in the parking lot near the Judicial Court Complex in Abohar today.

Preliminary reports indicated that Golu Pandit, who is locally known as son of temple priest, had come for the hearing of a case along with his friends in an brand-new Scorpio vehicle without number. Some persons, who were perhaps waiting for him, allegedly fired on him and fled. The incident triggered panic in the vicinity. At least three empties were reportedly spotted at the crime scene.

Golu Pandit was rushed to the Civil Hospital but was declared dead. The police, led by senior officials, reached the hospital and kept the body in the mortuary. They are inspecting the crime site to investigate further. Prima facie, it appeared to be the result of gang war. Sources said that Golu had many cases registered against him at the local police station.
