The “Mann Bharrya” singer wrote, “Kayin artist apna zameer hee bech chuke ne. Fiteh mooh tuhade (Some artists have sold their conscience).” Although B Praak did not mention anyone by name, the timing of his post has left fans wondering if it is an indirect criticism of Diljit.

The controversy centres around Diljit’s latest movie “Sardaar Ji 3”, featuring Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. This casting choice has sparked backlash in India, with calls to boycott the film. BN Tiwari, President of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), condemned Diljit’s decision and announced a ban on all future projects involving the actor.

As a result of the controversy, “Sardaar Ji 3” is scheduled for an overseas release on June 27 but will not be released in India.

Amid the backlash, Diljit on Tuesday posted a cryptic message on Instagram, referencing his film, “Punjab 95”. His post read, “Censored before release?”

The film “Punjab 95” tells the story of an ordinary man’s fight against human rights violations during Punjab’s militancy era. The project has been delayed due to censorship issues.
