Soon after the Aam Aadmi Party MLAs unanimously accepted Arvind Kejriwal's proposal forwarding Atishi's name for the Chief Minister post, the Bharatiya Janata Party did not miss the chance to mock the decision.

Taking a jibe on AAP, the BJP’s Delhi unit posted an image of Arvind Kejriwal and his successor Atishi, captioning it “Puppet CM of Delhi”.

The BJP also described the exit of Kejriwal as Delhi CM as good riddance.

After Delhi minister Gopal Rai announced the AAP legislative party decision to elect Atishi as the next CM, BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya in the first reaction said “good riddance.”

“Atishi Marlena as the new Chief Minister of Delhi means nothing. With less than six months to Delhi polls and Supreme Court’s strict bail conditions in the Delhi Liquor Excise scam, Arvind Kejriwal had no option, but to resign.

Let us not forget, Delhi witnessed a spate of drowning and electrocution deaths this monsoon, under Atishi’s watch. She is no less of a disaster than Arvind. But Kejriwal’s exit is certainly good riddance. Delhi deserves better,” the BJP said.

Meanwhile Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva said that “changing the face won't change AAP's character”.

“AAP leaders are trying to makeover the party” but they “cannot clean the black blots of corruption on their character...”, he said while speaking to mediapersons.
