Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said that the BJP government in the state was deliberately harassing the unemployed youth as they have been forced to move court even to fill Common Eligibility Test (CET) forms.

“The government, which has been involved in scams and frauds in every recruitment so far, is now playing with the recruitment forms. During the last two tenures, candidates had to knock court's door during every recruitment process. And now they have to approach the high court to fill the CET form as well,” he said.

“The government sought applications for the CET for group-C posts, but due to the shutdown of the Saral portal, candidates were not able to get the certificates of Scheduled Caste, Backward Class and others. Therefore, candidates of the reserved category were also forced to apply under the general category. In such a situation, the government itself should have corrected its portal and extended the application deadline for CET. It seems that the BJP never had the intention of giving jobs to the youth,” he added.

He further said that this was the reason why the youth had to knock the door of the high court to fill these forms. “The youth have demanded 15 days for CET registration. Also, the candidates have raised questions on normalisation and said that the CET should be held in a single shift so that everyone gets the same paper,” he said.

Hooda stated that this entire incident had exposed both BJP government's portal and the recruitment process. “The Congress government had started online facilities. Its purpose was to make all government departments and services, including panchayats, online and provide facilities to the public with one click from home. But the BJP turned the entire system of these online services on its head. People have to make rounds of government offices even to get online work done. Still, these works are not completed on time because the portals are down,” he pointed out.

Hooda said that the CET had been deliberately delayed for years, and now, when the process had started, a glitch was deliberately left in it as part of a well-thought-out plan. “So, like always, the matter goes to the court and the government gets an excuse to put the recruitments on hold, and drag the matter till the next election,” he noted.

“This government has played the same game in the last five years. The result of the recruitment was deliberately withheld. Unemployed youth and their families were blackmailed and their votes taken, and now, after forming the government, the same game has been started again,” he added.
