 Ludhiana, March 15

 The rising trend of daily new Covid cases in Ludhiana district continued on Monday as well when 255 fresh infections and 5 more deaths due to the virus were reported during the past 24 hours. The new cases included 14 students, 7 teachers, and 29 out of district patients. Among the five casualties, one was from Fatehgarh Sahib.

 With this, the total count of Covid cases in the district shot up to 33,673, including 4,614 out of district patients while the casualty chart climbed up to 1,583, including 529 from other districts and states. The tally of active cases also breached 1,300-mark to touch 1,307, including 137 outsiders. However, 26,835 patients have already recovered from the virus.

The district, which was under night curfew since Friday till further orders, had been reporting over 200 daily fresh Covid cases since Saturday.
