Sujawal Jagga, son of a teacher-couple, has brought laurels to his parents and small town by securing seventh rank in general category across Punjab in the PCS-Mains exam.

Around 50,000 candidates had appeared in the exam and 960 had qualified for the PCS-Mains. Of these, 180 candidates were shortlisted and invited for an interview. The PPSC released a combined list of 174 candidates on Friday.

Sujawal’s father Subhash Jagga is the director of a private school and mother Sunaina is a govt school teacher. He passed Class XII from the LRS DAV Senior Secondary Model School here and topped the entire district in the subject of commerce. After this, he got four years of Chartered Accountant education in Delhi and passed the final exam in the first attempt. Two years back, he felt amused when he was invited by his alma mater (DAV) here to deliver a lecture on financial literacy.

“Even after completing CA, I was inclined towards the PCS exam as my aim was to serve the common man with dedication. During the corona epidemic, I took coaching for the PCS exam on the CBL channel of YouTube. After clearing CA, I got an opportunity to go on tour to Brazil and Japan, where I also gained a lot of experience, Sujawal said.

Father Subhash Jagga, and uncle Vijay Jagga, a senior advocate said the entire family was feeling proud of Sujawal’s success, the family had tried its best to inculcate the values, with that he has achieved this milestone. Their dreams come true.

His elder sister Priyanka and her husband Sachin said they always hoped Sujawal will touch the heights in life, it’s becoming a reality.
