To commemorate Haryana Day, a Hindi acting competition was organised by the Hindi Department at Dyal Singh Public School, Sector 13-17, Panipat. The programme was inaugurated under the chairmanship of the school’s Principal Dr Vinita Kumar Tomar. Students from grades III to V participated in the programme, with three participants selected from each house. The main objective of the competition was to hone the students’ latent acting skills. Participants enthusiastically and performed captivating performances by Haryana’s best sportspersons, including Sakshi Malik, Kapil Dev, Himanshu Sharma, Saina Nehwal, Kalpana Chawla, and Neeraj Chopra, Haryana’s renowned folk singer Dada Lakhmichand, the farmers’ saviour Tau Devi Lal, and model and Miss World title winner Manushi Chillar. Nursery students at the school dressed up as famous Haryana athletes to showcase their talents, honouring the state’s heritage in wrestling, boxing, and athletics. Prep-1 students participated in an activity to identify traditional Haryana cuisine. Prep-2 students demonstrated pottery and rural crafts. Students from classes I and II showcased their creativity through clay modelling and created objects depicting Haryana’s cultural heritage. Students from classes III and VI participated in poster making, and students from classes VII and VIII learnt about Haryana’s rich culture and heritage through an informative video on Haryana’s traditions and history.
