Akshay Thakur, a Grade VI student at Mount Carmel School, Chandigarh, has brought laurels to the institution by winning the gold medal in the Sub Junior Category at the 1st Inter Club Taekwondo Tournament 2025, organised by Onyx Taekwondo Academy. His remarkable achievement highlights not only his talent and dedication but also the spirit of perseverance and discipline nurtured at the school. Principal Dr Parveena John Singh congratulated Akshay, saying, "We are extremely proud of Akshay's outstanding accomplishment. His hard work, determination and sportsmanship are truly inspiring for his peers. Achievements like these reinforce our commitment to encouraging students to excel not only in academics but also in co-curricular activities. We wish him continued success in all his future endeavours."

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
