The school presented a spectacular cultural extravaganza, “Bekhauff: Azad Hai Jeena Mujhe”, as a part of the Annual Day celebration at Tagore Theatre. The chief guest was Seema Kaushal, Punjabi and Bollywood actor. The evening began with the lighting of Jyoti Kalash. Principal Ritu Bali extended warm welcome to the chief guest and the gathering. This was followed by the school annual report, presented as a movie, highlighting the milestones achieved by the school. Then “Bekhauff: Azad Hai Jeena Mujhe”, a thought provoking and soul stirring play unfolding the painful and disturbing exploration of gender discrimination, domestic violence and women trafficking, shedding light on the struggles faced by women in the male dominated society and how a woman and daughter wage a war to break free from the shackles of conformity and embrace their true self, was staged. The show was a confluence of heart touching expression, a fine combination of soulful and lively dances, vibrant costumes and excellent showmanship. The mesmerising charm and arresting performance of the students witnessed an unceasing applause. Jasdeep Kalra, Executive Director, AKSIPS Group of Smart Schools, expressed his satisfaction with the programme. The exuberant celebration concluded with the vote of thanks followed by the singing of the national anthem.
