AKSIPS-41 Smart School, Chandigarh
A tree plantation drive was organised at the school. The event was a part of the school’s eco-initiative programme, with active participation from students, teachers, and local community members. The event began with a warm welcome by school Principal Ritu Bali, who highlighted the importance of trees in combating climate change, reducing pollution, and enhancing biodiversity. Executive Director of the AKSIPS Group of Schools Jasdeep Kalra, an environmental activist, also addressed the audience, stressing the need for individuals to take responsibility in protecting nature. Students from all grades enthusiastically took part, planting saplings of various native trees like neem, peepal, and mango in the school garden and surrounding areas. Plant saplings were planted during the event, marking a significant step towards the school’s goal of promoting sustainability and environmental education. The students were encouraged to adopt the planted trees, ensuring their care and maintenance over the coming months. Speaking on the occasion, the Eco Club in-charge said, “This tree plantation drive is not just about planting saplings, but about instilling a sense of environmental stewardship in our students. We are committed to teaching them the value of nature and the importance of a green, clean planet.”
