AKSIPS-65 Smart School, Chandigarh, celebrates World Heritage Day

A special assembly was organised to mark World Heritage Day. The assembly started with the morning prayer, followed by a motivational thought and new word. The students of Shakespeare House presented a small skit highlighting the beautiful sites of our country. The assembly concluded with the national anthem sung in unison. Associate Director Parnika Singh and Principal Rajminder Kaur Jaitla advised the students to create awareness about conserving and preserving our rich and varied heritage. The senior secondary wing organised an intra-class quiz competition based on the monuments and heritage sites of India for classes IX and X. Classes XI and XII participated in a declamation competition sharing their experiences about their favourite heritage sites.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
