Amanpreet wins international award
Amanpreet, a student of Dyal Singh Public School, Panipat, won a gold medal in the International Award for Young People. The award was established in Britain in 1956 with an aim to impart moral values, physical efficiency skills and confidence to the young generation. In India, this programme was started in 1962 and at present 240 schools are participating in it. Amanpreet, is the first student from Panipat district to achieve this feat. He got the highest position not only in the district but also in the state of Haryana. This honour was presented to him by former Army Chief Manoj Mukund Naravane at a function organised in Delhi. School teachers Sudesh Sharma and Sunita Kundu were also honoured with an incentive award in the programme. Principal of the school Vinita Kumar Tomar congratulated the students, teachers and parents of the school on this achievement. Being the CBSE District Coordinator, she appealed to all parents to motivate their children to participate in such types of competitions. She said this competition had four parts — voluntary work, physical fitness, skill and adventure work.
