Annual classical dance competition at St Mary’s School, Chandigarh
The Annual Classical Dance Competition, sponsored by the Mohan Varghese Memorial Scholarship and supported by Salamma Varghese, captivated audiences at the school. With participants ranging from students of LKG to Class IX, the event celebrated the beauty and elegance of classical dance forms. The competition, organised in memory of the late Mohan Varghese, aimed to foster a love for dance and provide a platform for students to showcase their talents. Participants exhibited exceptional skills, enchanting the audience with their graceful movements and expressions, reflecting the essence of Indian classical dance traditions. Chairman Rev Fr Aju Abraham remarked, “Events like these not only showcase the talent of our students but also instil a sense of cultural pride and appreciation for our heritage.” Salamma Varghese, in memory of her late husband, generously sponsored the event, expressing her commitment to nurturing young talent and preserving India’s rich cultural heritage. Cash prizes were awarded to the winners.
