Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh,  celebrated its annual function, “Udaan: Wings of Valour”, a heartfelt and inspiring theatrical tribute to the courage and sacrifice of Neerja Bhanot, India’s braveheart and an enduring symbol of selfless service. The chief guest was Most Reverend Bishop Dr Sahaya Thatheus Thomas. The guest of honour was Dr BC Gupta, retired IAS officer of the 1975 Punjab Cadre, presently serving as a Member of the Lok Adalat of the Punjab and Haryana High Court and former Food Secretary, Government of India. During the ceremony, the school honoured its distinguished faculty members for their notable achievements: Nalini Ajay – State Award 2024, Deepali Garg – Commendation Award 2025, Anupam Lekhi – State Award 2025, Chaitaly Nandy – Best Physical Education Teacher, North Zone, Arti Bagdi – Top Educator of the Year, Indian Schools Award at Chitkara University. Academic excellence was celebrated as toppers of Class X from both English medium and vernacular streams were felicitated for their outstanding performance. A proud moment for the institution was the book launch of “Petals: 18 on 18”, authored by Yashaswani Singh of Class XII-A, who made an impressive entry into the world of literature. The school also recognised the achievements of its basketball teams (under-10, under-14, and under-17) for their strong performances in inter-school tournaments. The school band was felicitated for securing first position at the State-Level Band Competition organised by the Education Department. The programme concluded with an energetic bhangra performance, filling the atmosphere with colour, rhythm, and excitement.
