As part of the Social Science Week celebrations, students of the DAV Public School, Sector 8-C, Chandigarh, organised an “Anti-Cracker Rally” to spread the message of celebrating a Green and Safe Diwali. The rally aimed to create awareness among the community about the harmful effects of bursting crackers on health and the environment. Carrying vibrant placards and chanting slogans like “Celebrate Green Diwali, Not Mean Diwali” and “Spread Love, Not Fireworks”, the young DAVians marched through the nearby areas, encouraging people to choose eco-friendly ways to celebrate the festival of lights. Students also interacted with residents, urging them to opt for diyas, sweets, and decorations instead of harmful firecrackers. Principal Mantoshpal Singh appreciated the students’ efforts and emphasised that true celebration lies in spreading light, joy, and care for our surroundings.
