The school participated in the Republic Day function held at Guru Gobind Singh Stadium, Jalandhar, and bagged the first prize in cultural performances. Total 110 students participated and showcased their exceptional skills and patriotism through mesmerising performance. The occasion was graced by the Cabinet Minister Aman Arora and the Deputy Commissioner of the city. All participants were awarded with a certificate and a trophy was given to the school. The thrilling performance and the efforts of the Apeejay team were highly appreciated by the dignitaries and the attendees. Achieving first position in the maiden participation is the result of dynamic leadership of Principal Sangeeta Nistandra, hardworking teachers, committed parents and enthusiastic students.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
