As part of the capacity building programme for teachers, a special workshop was conducted on ‘Joyful Teaching’ for the teachers of Pre-Nursery to Class II at the school. The workshop helped the teachers understand how a happy environment can be created to make learning engaging and joyful for the students. The eminent resource person for the workshop was Cdr Jagmohan Singh Bhogal, a motivational speaker and an experienced life coach. He focussed on the concept of ‘REM’ — Recognise, Express and Manage — for effective teaching. The workshop touched upon SEL, ie social, emotional learning as the latest pedagogy in teaching the students wherein lesson plans of the teachers must include activities that promote social, emotional development of the children.
