The students of Class IX Winsome and Class IX Zenithians of Chaman Vatika Gurukul, Ambala, conducted a thoughtful and engaging thematic assembly on the “United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 14: Life Below Water”. The objective of the assembly was to raise awareness about the importance of ocean life, the dangers faced by marine ecosystems, and the urgent need for conservation. The assembly began with a morning prayer and thought for the day, followed by a short introduction to the theme by student anchors. Students performed a creative skit showcasing how human actions, such as dumping waste and overusing plastic harm marine species like turtles, whales, and fish. The skit ended with a strong message encouraging everyone to be mindful of their choices. An action poem was recited, personifying the ocean pleading for help. Students shared eye-opening facts like “More than 8 million tonnes of plastic enter our oceans every year”. In reference to the information received from the National Museum of Natural History, Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Climate Change in subject “Project Dolphin and strengthening biodiversity” and as per CBSE initiative of save Dolphin, the assembly concluded with a collective pledge by all students on “Our Dolphin, Our Heritage”. Poster-making on the same topic was also organised on the school campus. Principal Sonali Sharma appreciated all participants and organisers for such a meaningful assembly.
