An awareness session on dyslexia was conducted at Titan’s Hall of Om Parkash Bansal Modern School, Mandi Gobindgarh, for the students and teachers of classes VI-VII, led by school psychologist and health and wellness ambassador Dr Amandeep Kaur. The session aimed to create understanding and empathy towards children with learning difficulties, particularly dyslexia. Dr Amandeep Kaur explained the characteristic features, signs, challenges, and effective strategies to assist children with dyslexia, emphasising the importance of patience and inclusivity in classrooms. Many students are also found to have mild forms of dyslexia but are often unable to recognise or express their difficulties. A special presentation based on the film ‘Taare Zameen Par’ was shown to the students, beautifully depicting how dyslexia affects a child’s learning and emotional growth, and how timely support and encouragement can help them shine. The session helped both teachers and students to understand what dyslexia is, how it affects learning, and how early awareness and support can make a huge difference. Students actively participated in an interactive discussion, sharing their thoughts and reflections. The session inspired everyone to foster a more compassionate and supportive learning environment.
