Babu Brish Bhan DAV Public School, Moonak

The school celebrated its Annual Day of the senior section (Class V to XII) themed “Smritam” in the school auditorium. The whole school, particularly Asha Bhan Auditorium, was well decorated. The chief guest was Barinder Kumar Goyal, Minister of Mine and Water Resources, Punjab. LMC Chairman Justice Ashok Bhan, retired Judge of the Supreme Court of India, Vice-Chairman, LMC, Sham Lal Garg, former Chief Engineer, BBMB, Manager of school Madhu Bahl and Principal Sanjeev Sharma welcomed the chief guest and other dignitaries present. The programme started with lightning of the lamp by the guests, followed by DAV Gaan. The principal delivered a speech highlighting the achievements of the school. Highlights of the cultural presentations were ‘Shiv Taandav’, ‘dandia’, followed by ‘Bharat Darshan’ and bhangra. In the prize ceremony, the toppers CBSE Class X and XII board exams of the last session were given mementos as well as a cheque for Rs 10,000 each under the ‘Asha Bhan’ Scholarship Scheme. Sportspersons of the school who participated at the national level were awarded mementos and track suits. Under the best worker of the school award scheme instituted in the name of former Vice-Chairman, LMC, Subhash Garg, Sunita Jain and Deva Singh got mementos as well as a cheque for Rs 10,000 each. The programme concluded with the singing of the national anthem marking the end of an enjoyable Annual Day celebrations.
