The school commemorated the 79th anniversary of Hiroshima Day with a special assembly promoting peace, unity, and disarmament, while honouring the people who lost their lives in the 1945 atomic bombing. Three Class VI students — Navya, Rababinder and Jason — shared their experiences from a recent educational visit to Japan along with school Principal Inderpreet Kaur. They highlighted the country’s transformation after the devastation caused by the atomic bombing into a peaceful nation. They emphasised the importance of remembering the past to build a better future, stressing that “peace is the answer, not war”. A dance performance by students of Class I-B on the poignant song ‘Heal the World’, conveyed a powerful message of peace, unity, and harmony. The school observed a two-minute silence to pay tribute to the souls who lost their lives in the atomic bombing. The event concluded with Principal Inderpreet Kaur’s address to the students, encouraging them to become champions of peace and commit to promoting harmony in the world.
