The State Bank of India (Card Branch) organised a free cancer screening and awareness camp at the school in collaboration with Dr. Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal’s renowned organisation ‘World Cancer Care’. During the camp, expert doctors and state-of-the-art equipment were present in the buses brought by the World Cancer Care Society. During the camp, about 500 people got screened and medicines were given to the needy. Director of the Punjab Chapter of World Cancer Care Dr Jagjit Singh Dhuri, Dr Dharminder Dhillon and Manager Kanwaljit Singh Dhindsa said if the symptoms of cancer are identified in advance, then cancer can be prevented from developing. The expert team of Dr Dharminder Dhillon, Pooja Mahi, Dr Jaspreet Singh, Dr Amandeep Kaur, Dr Abhishek, Dr Shruti and Dr Prabhjot Kaur conducted sugar and BP check-ups, PSA test for prostate cancer in men, blood cancer test, mouth, throat and bone check-ups, mammography test for women, Pap smear test of the cervix and proper advice was given to cancer patients. The camp was especially attended by young leaders Gaurav Goyal and Kanwarjit Lucky Dhaliwal.
