On Janmashtami, the ‘Upanayan’ and ‘Vedarambh’ ceremonies were organised for nearly 260 newly admitted girls, as is the tradition every year. A 38-kundiya yajna (sacrificial fire ceremony) was also performed. During the event, the girls, through the sacred hymns of the Vedas and the small rituals embedded within the Upanayan ceremony, pledged to incorporate small vows into their lives to lead them towards greatness.
