Children’s Day was celebrated at DAV Public School, Gohju, with great zeal and enthusiasm by organising a vibrant sports and cultural programme. The event was honoured by the esteemed presence of the chief guest, Kewal Singh Pathania, Deputy Chief Whip of the Himachal Pradesh and MLA of Shahpur. School Manager Dr Vipin Jistu and Management Committee Member Vichitr Singh also graced the occasion. The programme began with a floral tribute to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru by the chief guest, marking the ceremonial opening of the Children’s Day celebrations. Students showcased discipline, teamwork and creativity through yoga show, pyramid formation and lezim performance. Seven meritorious students of Class X were honoured with cash prizes. Ritika Choudhary was recognised for securing the seventh position in the state. Vanya Dixit received a special award of Rs 5,000 for her achievement at the national sports level. The chief guest also extended blessings by presenting Rs 11,000 to the school on the occasion of Children’s Day. Students from classes III to X participated in an exciting range of events such as 50m & 100m races, 200m race, sack race, frog race and lemon race.
