CL Aggarwal DAV Model School, Sector 7-B Chandigarh

As part of the vanmahotsav celebration, the school conducted competitions for students from July 1 to 6. The competition was based on the theme ‘Making a Green World – One Tree at a Time’. Students of classes I to V showcased their skills by producing innovative objects from waste. Students of classes VI to VIII brought their thoughts and emotions to life through their essays and poems on ‘Making a Green World – One Tree at a Time’. Students of classes IX and X spread awareness on the importance of trees through their posters. The celebration ended with exotic ‘Mango Mela’, where many varieties of mangoes were displayed. NK Jhingan, secretary, Environment Society, Chandigarh, was the chief guest, who encouraged the students with his valuable words. Many saplings were planted by students and the guest. The students also pledged to look after them. Some activities and performances were also done by the kindergarten students. Principal Jyotika Ahuja praised the efforts made by the students and encouraged to perform many more activities which are environmental friendly.
