Col VR Mohan DAV Public School, Derabassi, celebrated Dasehra with immense zeal, enthusiasm, and fervour. A delightful puppet show depicting the entire 'Ramayana' was organised for kindergarten students, captivating the young audience as their favourite characters came to life. The senior students enacted the 'Ramayana', beginning with the 'Ram Katha' narrated by Luv and Kush. The Ramlila featured various scenes including King Dasharath's court, the birth of the four princes, Sita's swayamvar, Rama's exile, Ashok Vatika, and the eventual defeat of Ravana. Students showcased their talents through performances and dances. A 35-foot effigy of Ravana was burnt following the Ramlila. Junior students dressed up as Lord Ram, Lakshman, Sita, Hanuman, and the Vanar Sena. The moral of the celebration was underscored by the message that Ravana's one mistake nullified his wisdom - encouraging students to remain genuine in their actions. The principal, Sarita Yadav, addressed the students, stating the celebration aimed to teach the value of virtue over vice. She also commended the efforts of the teachers and students in making the event a grand success.
