DAV Model School, Sector 15, Chandigarh, marked Dasehra with a special assembly that presented a unique and thought-provoking interpretation of Ravana's story. While acknowledging Ravana's brilliance as an astrologer, ruler, and Ayurvedic scholar, the assembly focused on how unchecked vices led to his downfall. Students from various houses and the DPSE programme delivered theatrical performances that explored the deeper meanings behind Ravana's ten heads. Each house portrayed specific vices: Bhagat Singh House highlighted the conflict between desire and discipline; Sukhdev House performed on attachment ('Moha') and greed ('Lobha'); Rajguru House explored pride ('Mada') and jealousy ('Matsarya'); and Lakshmi Bai House reflected on the duality of the mind ('Manas') and intellect ('Buddhi'). DPSE students enacted the effects of stubborn will ('Chitta') and ego ('Ahankara'). The vibrant costumes, dialogue, music, and choreography added depth to the performances. The event also featured young students dressed in colourful attire, while the school resounded with chants glorifying Lord Rama, reinforcing the moral that good always prevails over evil.
