An ‘11 Kundiya Yagya’ was organised in the portals of Sanatan Dharam Temple, Sector 15, Chandigarh, by the staff and students of the school to mark the beginning of New Year. Anuja Sharma, Principal of the school, emphasised that the main purpose of the ‘yagya’ is to awaken the consciousness of students towards Indian culture and Vedic rituals. Acharya Ramesh Shastri discussed the importance of ‘yagya’ for the purity of universe. After the ‘yagya’, the teachers of the music department, along with students, recited a mesmerising ‘bhajan’. President of Sanatam Dharam Temple SC Gupta blessed the staff and students for the ‘yagya’ amidst melodious chants of Vedic mantras. He on behalf of the management of the temple distributed Holy Geeta to the staff members and students. NSS volunteers and students of the Interact Club distributed ‘langar’ with religious fervour and zeal, thereby promoting peace, tranquillity and universal brotherhood. The event ended on a positive note with ‘Shanti Path’ and ‘prasad’ distribution along with ‘langar’.
