DAV Police Public School, Panchkula organised an educational visit to the Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIR-CSIO), Chandigarh, for the science stream students of classes XI and XII. The visit was aimed at providing students with first-hand exposure to scientific research, advanced instrumentation, and career opportunities in technical and scientific domains. During the visit, students explored various departments and laboratories within the institute. They witnessed the functioning of sophisticated machinery, such as drilling machines, shapers, and die & mould making equipment, and gained a deeper understanding of advanced laboratory techniques like chromatography and spectrometry. A special highlight of the tour was the visit to the Central Analytical Facility (CAF) Laboratory, where students learned about its crucial role in supporting research through precise analytical testing. They were also introduced to the Indo-Swiss Training Centre (ISTC), where they explored options for diploma and advanced diploma programmes in technical education. Furthermore, the session informed students about diverse career paths under CSIR, including roles in research, technical fields, and administration, inspiring many to consider futures in science and innovation.
