Ropar branch of BSNL organised a sketching and painting competition in coordination with the Director of School Education at the school. The competition was organised by BSNL to celebrate its 23rd formation anniversary with the motive to encourage artistic expression among the students with the theme of smart learning using BSNL Bharat Fibre and further fostering a sense of community in school students. Around 350 students from four schools of Ropar participated in the competition. BSNL distributed refreshments to all participating students. Assistant General Manager Navneet Kumar, Harjit Singh, Principal Sangeeta Rani, Iqbal Singh and other staff members were present. Top three winners of the painting competition will be felicitated by BSNL, Ropar.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
