Palak Dhawan, a Class XI student of the school, won the first prize in a declamation competition organised by the Saini Charitable Education Trust, Rupnagar.

In a tough competition where students of several prestigious schools of Rupnagar participated, Palak Dhawan impressed the jury members with her strong reasoning and eloquent speech on the performance of Indian players in Olympic Games.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
