As part of the Social Science Week celebrations, students of DAV Public School, Sector 8-C, Chandigarh, organised an "Anti-Cracker Rally" to spread the message of celebrating a green and safe Diwali. The rally aimed to create awareness about the harmful effects of bursting crackers on health and the environment. Carrying vibrant placards and chanting slogans like "Celebrate Green Diwali, Not Mean Diwali" and "Spread Love, Not Fireworks", the young DAVians marched through the nearby areas, encouraging people to choose eco-friendly ways to celebrate the festival of lights. The enthusiastic participation of students from various classes reflected their commitment to protecting nature and promoting sustainable living. The event highlighted the importance of reducing air and noise pollution, protecting animals from distress and conserving the purity of environment. Students also interacted with residents, urging them to opt for diyas, sweets and decorations instead of harmful firecrackers. Principal Mantoshpal Singh appreciated the students' efforts and emphasised that true celebration lies in spreading light, joy and care for the surroundings. He motivated everyone to take small steps towards a cleaner and greener planet.
