DC Model School, Panchkula, celebrates Basant Panchami
Invoking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati, students celebrated Basant Panchami in the school. The kindergarten section enjoyed the celebration with gaiety and religious fervour. The celebration started with “Saraswati vandana’ and ‘shloka’ recitation by students in the morning assembly. The tiny tots of the school offered garland and yellow ‘prasad’ to the Goddess. All students and teachers attired themselves in yellow, which signifies the brilliance of nature and the vibrancy of life, with yellow ‘tilak’ and relished the ‘prasad’ together. The students also brought yellow eatables and were told the significance of the auspicious day in the morning assembly by their teachers. Yet another exciting event on the occasion was traditional kite-flying competition for the students of classes VI to IX. It was held in the school playground to add fun, gaiety and excitement to the celebration. Director of the school Usha Gupta extended her greetings on the occasion and also applauded the participants for their enthusiastic participation.
