Dinosaur Park, Otter House at Chhatbir zoo inaugurated

Cabinet Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu today inaugurated Dinosaur Park at Chhatbir zoo in a virtual ceremony on the eve of Independence Day.
The Dinosaur Park is one of its kind and will cope up with the international standard of zoo education to understand about prehistoric dinosaurs.
Chhatbir zoo in collaboration with Altrview group on PPP mode developed a dinosaur park in which lifelike interactive robotic models of dinosaurs are being exhibited. A sum of Rs 5 crore has been spent on this project. This park will also provide scientific information about dinosaurs. The Dinosaur Park is being developed as a very interactive and entertaining zoo education activity which will provide useful scientific awareness in a very interesting way.
An Otter House has also been developed at Chhatbir Zoo. The smooth-coated otter (Lutrogale perspicillata) is a very active and playful animal. Chhatbir zoo recently created a new naturalistic exhibit for this species. The exhibit has been created with see-through-glass so the visitors can enjoy the playful underwater movements of the otters. Rs 35 lakh has been spent for the creation of this otter house. From today onwards, the visitors of Chhatbir Zoo can explore these two newly added features at Chhatbir Zoo.
