SBR DAV Public School, Talwandi Bhai, celebrated the festival of lights, along with Bandi Chhod Diwas, with devotion, joy and enthusiasm. The celebration commenced with a special morning assembly, where students presented thoughts, speeches and poems highlighting the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness. The assembly beautifully conveyed the values of truth, kindness and harmony. Students were also reminded of the significance of Lord Rama's return to Ayodhya after defeating Ravana, which is celebrated as Diwali, symbolising the victory of righteousness, virtue and goodness. Alongside this, the importance of Bandi Chhod Diwas — commemorating the release of Guru Hargobind from imprisonment — was highlighted, teaching students the values of freedom, justice and compassion. Students participated in candle-decorating competition, showcasing their creativity and festive spirit. An inter-house rangoli making competition added vibrant hues to the celebration as students designed stunning patterns symbolising peace, prosperity and togetherness. Principal Jaswinder Kaur appreciated the efforts of students and teachers and extended warm wishes to everyone. She urged all to celebrate an eco-friendly Diwali, spreading joy, safety and positivity.
